19th – 20th March 2016
Ironically this time last year whilst visiting Spain we met with our friend Mags as she just happened to be out in Mojacar at the same time as we were and was staying in the hotel next door to ours. I wonder what the odds were for us meeting up again at around the same time this year as that’s exactly what has happened. After texting on the off chance yesterday we have headed further north past Mojacar (via the launderette) to Vera Playa where Mags and Nigel are staying. Conveniently Mags had spotted some other MH’s parked near to the beach and only a short walk from their hotel so was able to tell us the location. Over the past eight years in March the four of us would have always met up at the Ideal Home Show in London where we would all be exhibiting and although working hard selling our wares during the day normally managed to get together for a few drinks on several occasions during the event. I have to say that last years and this year’s location is by far our preferable place to meet for a catch up though. Both having lived in the area previously (Mags for around 40 years and Nigel for nearly 5 years) they know the region well – Paul and I felt privileged to have our own personal tour guides! After a couple of hours catching up in the afternoon we headed out for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Mojacar. After a delicious meal we returned to Vera Playa as Mags still owns a bar there and although it’s now let out we headed down there for after dinner drinks. The bar is located right by the naturist beach and next door to the only naturist hotel in Spain (although it’s closed at this time of year) but although some of the patrons were dressed a little risqué all of them were fully clothed at least! After a couple more drinks we finally rolled out of the bar at around 1.30a.m. – Well I suppose it has been a year since we caught up!!!
After a sluggish Sunday morning start we met up and headed out to a nearby market and tour of the nearby coastal villages (courtesy of Nigel’s Tours), stopping off for a beachside lunch and coffee and cake along the way.
Nigel’s tours even included a stop for coffee & cake!
Adios for now you two, it was great to catch up – same time, same place next year maybe ???!!!!
Love Andi & Paul xx
